There’s a loneliness epidemic going on on a global scale.
As we develop the technology to connect, everything has also become more personalized.
From the food you eat to the clothes you wear to the entertainment you watch. Everything can be customized so that it’s unique to you.
You can also enjoy that entertainment on your phone without interacting with anyone and have everything delivered to your door without having to step outside.
These are all good things. But it also means that now social interaction must be voluntary.
You must decide to walk outside and spend time with people. You must decide to deal with the inconvenience of social norms and take time to learn how to get along with other people.
It actually requires work and you have to go out of your way to do it.
But the price of not doing it is loneliness.
